Janet (Beckwith) Vickery was an outstanding shortstop for the St. Vital/West Kildonan Tigerettes from 1946 to the early 1950s. A smooth fielder, she also was an excellent hitter who led the Greater Winnipeg Senior Girls League in batting in 1947 with a .346 average. The Winnipeg Free Press named Janet to its first-ever all-star team that season and she was the only player again selected to the team the next two years. The 1949-1954 St. Vital/West Kildonan Tigerettes teams were inducted into the HOF in 2004.
